TIME WARP INSTALLATION

ART DIRECTION | VIDEO EDITTING | GRAPHIC DESIGN | SCULPTING |

“To accept one's past — one's history — is not the same thing as drowning in it. An invented past can never be used; it cracks and crumbles under the pressures of life like clay in a season of drought.” ― James Baldwin
The Time Warp installation manifested itself directly from a profound dream, while honoring Black Racial Apologists across America’s extensive historical timeline. The end goal? To reveal America’s endless attempts at rewriting its own unsettling history, through a careful observation of past and present gut wrenching realities.

A wide range of intricate art mediums including photo collage, video editing, sculpting, and digital illustration functioned as visual aids— collectively closing the invisible gap between each viewer’s curiosity and every manipulated or untold story. Themes of systematic racism, gentrification and displacement, intergenerational trauma, and mental health awareness were called to the forefront of this series— emphasizing how each matter has continuously altered the “American Dream” for African American citizens in this country.
